Celebrate the Resilience of Our Nation!
September 11th marks one of the darkest days in American history when terrorists launched sim
ultaneous attacks on our homeland on that day in 2001. They used three hijacked airliners to hit the World Trade Center and the Pentagon while a fourth hijacked plane tried but failed to attack the U.S. Capitol or the White House in Washington D.C., crashing in a Pennsylvania field. The attacks claimed 2,974 lives on that fateful day.
In the aftermath of the attacks, a bill was introduced to observe September 11th as a National Day of Mourning. During the term of President Barack Obama, the date was declared Patriot Day.
Patriot Day is observed every year to pay tribute to the civilians, responders, and heroes who perished during the 9/11 attacks. It is a day dedicated to remembering the fallen and celebrating the resilience of the nation to rise from the tragedy and stand up against threats to American life and liberty.
Veteran Car Donations shares some meaningful ways of observing Patriot Day:

Read more about the events that transpired on September 11th, 2001 by visiting relevant websites. You can also watch movies and documentaries that portray the harrowing experiences of the victims, survivors, and heroes of the great tragedy. This will give you a finer appreciation of the meaning of Patriot Day.
- Talk about 9/11 on social media.
Use your social media platforms to talk about 9/11 so that people can remember why Patriot Day is observed.
- Visit the 9/11 memorial.
In place of the World Trade Center in New York, which was leveled by the attacks, a memorial was erected depicting the names of the fallen. Say a prayer for the fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and friends who lost their lives in the attack as you read their names.
- Join a stair climb.
Every year, some organizations hold stair-climbing events to honor the first responders who climbed 110 flights of stairs to rescue the people who were trying to evacuate the World Trade Center after the first wave of the attacks.
- Become a hero.
You can honor the fallen victims of 9/11 by becoming a hero to people in need. Become a blood donor to help save lives or volunteer your services to a nonprofit that supports a worthy cause.
Show Your Compassion to Struggling Veterans This Way
Patriot Day is a celebration of our nation’s resilience in the face of tragedy. It should also inspire us to reach out to people in need, particularly to the veterans in your local community some of whom must have fought in the war on terror that ensued after 9/11.
A simple way to show your compassion for struggling disadvantaged veterans is by donating any vehicle you can spare to us at Veteran Car Donations.
We’ll have your vehicle auctioned off, with the proceeds distributed to reputable military and veteran nonprofit organizations that are in partnership with us. These IRS-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofits are dedicated to improving the quality of life of our former service members who are homeless, unable to find jobs, and suffering from service-related disabilities and serious illnesses, including mental health disorders.
Our charity partners use the funding we give them to provide deserving veterans with housing and financial assistance, employment and livelihood opportunities, family support, free quality health care and medical treatment, psychotherapy services, and many other services meant to uplift their lives.
You will also benefit from your charitable contribution. We’ll quickly haul off your unwanted vehicle at a date, time, and place of your preference at absolutely no cost to you. Rest assured that we can collect your donation anywhere in the country.
You’ll also get to enjoy our quick and convenient donation process where you don’t have to do any paperwork.
On top of that, your charitable contribution will entitle you to claim the maximum tax deduction in the next tax season.
Perhaps more important than all those material rewards, you’ll find utmost satisfaction in knowing that your act of charity will be used to help turn around the lives of the suffering veterans in your community.
We accept almost all types of vehicles, and we’re not picky when it comes to their ages or conditions.
